Our OU Discipleship team aims to create the space for children, youth, and college students to receive the grace of God for themselves and to commit to a growing, lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. Confirmation plays an important role in this work. Theologically, confirmation includes three things:
- God confirms the divine promise to those who were too young to grasp what God was doing in their baptism,
- they respond by professing their own acceptance of the grace they have received and their own faith in Christ,
- the Church, as represented by this congregation, confirms the commitments they make.
Confirmation 2022
Confirmation 2022 begins in September! If you are the parent of a 7th grader who should be part of this year’s program, email Emilie Bramlett.
Alpha Lessons
The first part of Confirmation are one-on-one sessions between the confirmand and their mentor during September.
Confirmands and mentors can take this at their own pace, as long as they complete all seven meetings and cover the provided curriculum by Sunday, October 9.
