Oxford University United Methodist Church is a healthy and vibrant Christ-centered Church that participates in the mission of God to heal and renew all things by practicing the way of Jesus together. Located in the heart of Oxford, Mississippi, we serve 700 people over three services on Sunday morning. OU has a long history of partnering with families to raise the next generation in the way of Jesus. 

OU Student Ministry Administrative Co-ordinator

Job Type: Part Time (25 hours/week)
Reports to: Director of OU Student Ministry (Youth & College)
Position Summary: Provides administrative and logistical support to the OU Student Ministry Team to help fulfill its mission of engaging youth, college students, and families. Supports weekly ministry events and retreats for up to 150 participants through coordination, communication, and systems management.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Embrace and live out the mission, vision, and values of the OU staff team.
  • Coordinate logistics for weekly student events, seasonal retreats, and ministry calendar.
  • Develop and distribute communications (email, Remind, webpage, etc.) for parents, youth, and college students.
  • Partner with the communications team to maintain updated student ministry strategies.
  • Print and distribute resources (including birthday cards and mailings).
  • Manage logistics for retreats, events, and budget reconciliation.
  • Coordinate meals and meal teams for youth nights.
  • Maintain and utilize ministry databases (CCB, Grow Numbers, Google Docs, Remind, waivers) to track participation and follow-up.
  • Support families with timely information and updates.
  • Assist student staff and volunteers with event planning, registrations, and check-ins.
  • Participate in professional and team development when required.

Work Schedule (25 hours/week)
  • Monday: Prepare weekly communications (Remind/email).
  • Tuesday: Staff meetings (up to 2 hrs) and communication implementation.
  • Wednesday: On campus, 4–8 PM (Youth Nights: welcome, meals, logistics).
  • Thursday: Retreat planning, budget reconciliation, and student tracking.
  • Sunday: Event/retreat coordination as needed (TBD).
  • Quarterly: Attend Youth Council meetings (5 PM).
  • Flexibility to work remotely and on campus to support ministry needs.

Desired Qualifications
  • Clear passion for serving youth, college students, and families.
  • Experience with administrative systems and event coordination.
  • Highly organized; able to meet deadlines and manage details.
  • Skilled in managing systems, payments, and follow-up processes.
  • Strong listening, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for the Church and student ministry.

56 Ministry Intern

Job Type: Part Time
Reports to: 56 Ministry Coordinator and Pastor of Discipleship

Ministry Duties & Expectations

56 Gatherings

  • Administrative Duties
    • Set up & cleanup for Wednesday night programming
    • Purchase/pick up needed supplies 
    • Organize materials
    • Arrange for photographers for programs
    • Collect/organize pictures
    • Manage 56 Instagram
  • Relational Duties
    • Be present with kids during program time
    • Lead small group of 56 kids during program time
    • Engage in contact ministry with 56 kids, including school visits, ball games, and other social activities.

56 Events

  • Work with 56 Coordinator to plan and administer social events
  • Work with 56 Coordinator to plan and administer retreats, events, and milestone events
  • Collaborate with Pastor of Discipleship and 56 Coordinator to plan mission activities 
  • Assist pastor to children and families with created by God weekend (date TBD)

Candidate Will Ideally Possess The Following Qualities:  

  • Mature Christian faith with strong and proactive leadership skills who is self-aware, competent, and able to work with, equip, and empower staff and volunteers. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for all age levels. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize. 
  • Adaptable and flexible while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Can handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with Google Products (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms etc) and social media preferred
  • Must be a team player and service-oriented.

OU Preschool Programs Lead Teacher/Assistant Teacher

Job Type: Part Time
Discovery Day School and First Discoveries are ministries of Oxford University United Methodist Church. OU’s Preschool Programs offer a nurturing, safe environment in which children feel loved, respected and valued while they are encouraged to develop to their fullest potential socially, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.

Discovery Day School Teaching Positions

DDS offers a child-centered curriculum based on teaching age-appropriate skills and concepts with a variety of teaching strategies.  Our concepts and skills are based on the MS Dept. of Education Early Learning Standards and enhanced by the Learning Without Tears Curriculum.  Children and teachers of all nationalities and religions are accepted and welcome. DDS serves only children who are potty-trained and verbal. DDS Pre-kindergarten students are three or four years old by September 1 and attend Monday – Friday.

Lead Teachers: DDS lead teachers are certified teachers and/or have a degree in education or a child-related field.

Assistant Teachers: High School Diploma or higher; not required to have a background in early childhood education, though some do.


First Discoveries Teaching Positions

FD is designed to provide a nurturing environment while giving mothers and other caregivers a regular block of time to meet personal and family needs. First Discoveries provides opportunities for toddlers and preschoolers to interact with a small group of children their own age on a regular basis and to enjoy happy learning experiences with loving teachers.  Our First Discoveries teachers complete professional development hours in early childhood education courses.  

FD lead and assistant teachers are not required to have a background in early childhood, though some do.
