Discovery Day School is a ministry of Oxford University United Methodist Church. DDS provides a nurturing, safe environment in which children feel loved, respected and valued while they are encouraged to develop to their fullest potential socially, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. Children of all faiths and nationalities are welcome.

Established in 1983, DDS provides a nurturing, safe environment in which children feel loved, respected, and valued while they are encouraged to develop to their fullest potential socially, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.
First Discoveries is a ministry of Oxford University United Methodist Church, is designed to provide quality child care in a nurturing environment thus giving mothers and other caregivers a regular block of time to meet personal and family needs. First Discoveries provides opportunities for toddlers and preschoolers to interact with a small group of children their own age on a regular basis and to enjoy happy learning experiences at church.
Children of all nationalities and religions are accepted and welcome to both programs.

We have two extended day options for students in our DDS three and four year old program. A limited number of spaces are available in each. Children bring a sack lunch (we follow MSDH guidelines for sack lunches) and have extended play time in the classroom, gym or playground. Pick up time is 2:00 – 2:15.
Wonderful Wednesday: on specific Wednesdays throughout each semester. Parents may sign up on a first come, first- served basis at the beginning of each semester.
Extended Day: Monday – Thursday, throughout the school year or semester. Parents may register during enrollment on a first come first serve basis.
Camp Discovery is a summer day camp for children who have completed Discovery Day School three- or four-year-old preschool or kindergarten, are enrolled in Discovery Junior or Senior PreK for the 2026-2027 school year, or are OU members who meet the potty training and registration requirements.
Camp Discovery has been a huge hit with students, parents, and with camp leaders. The teachers and DDS staff are excited for their thirteenth summer of Camp Discovery!
