Sunday Night Reading Group
This group meets on two Sundays each month to discuss books on religion and spirituality chosen by majority vote. The group’s reading has tended to focus on contemporary, non-traditional views of Christianity. Among the authors previously read are Marcus Borg, John Dominic Crossan, Elaine Pagels, Joan Chittister, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Reinhold Niebuhr, Frederick Buechner and Barbara Brown Taylor. Anyone is welcome to join the group at any time.

United Methodsit Women
The organized unite of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
OU's local UMW officers for 2010 are Peggy Schove, President; Millie Meaders, Vice President; Dixie Jordan, Treasurer; Linda Taylor, Secretary. We have four UMW circles: Friendship Circle (Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. in Conference 107), InBetweeners Circle (third Wednesday of each month at noon in Conference 107), Mary Martha Circle (second Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m.), and Kate Guyton Circle (third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in Conference 327).

AA meets at OUUMC in Room 201 on Mondays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. Al-Anon, a 12-step program for relatives and friends of alcoholics, meets in Conference 327 Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. Narcotics Anonymous meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. in Room 201.
The AA group for young people meets Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. in the basement of the University Counseling Building. The Al-Anon group meets Wednesdays at 5:30 in the basement. For more information, call the University Counseling Center, 662-915-3784. Al-Anon also meets Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m. in the St. John’s Catholic Church Student Center.
