Oxford-University United Methodist Church Children's Ministry

Our goal is to coordinate the development of our children spiritually, physically, intellectually, and socially. Oxford-University wants children to know that they matter to God—by showing them they matter to us—so that one day others will matter to them.

Promotion Sunday

August 12 will be our Sunday School Promotion Sunday. On this day, children will report to their new Sunday School classrooms. See the Sunday School page for an update on teachers and room assignments.

Worship Outreach Wednesday

Our W.O.W. program for children will begin September 5th. Kindergarten through sixth graders will meet in the centering circle of the gym at 6:00 pm. Prayer, scripture, song, and games will be used to capture the essence of the Fruit of the Spirit. Outreach and service will be the focus this fall, and children will be encouraged to discover ways to help and serve others. Our 3 and 4 year olds will enjoy a series of Heroes from the Bible curriculum and will discover and grow in the Fruit of the Spirit. Supper begins at 5:15 pm. See you there!

F.I.S.H.

F.I.S.H. (First In Serving Him, a mission-minded group of 5th and 6th graders) will begin meeting August 26 in Wesley Hall from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Joe Woolsey is the devotional leader.

Acolyte Training

All youth in grades 6 and up who would like to be trained as an acolyte, please call the church office at 234-5278. The first training session will be Saturday, august 18 at 10 am in the choir room.

Confirmation Picture of OUUMC and Burns

OUUMC and Burn's U.M.C. have partnered together for confirmation classes. OUUMC has 15 sixth graders participating in confirmation. Please join us during the 10:55 a.m. worship service on April 15 for Confirmation Sunday.
